Stroke is the third leading cause of death among adults and a leading cause of disability. Each year, approximately 750,000 Americans experience a stroke and 500,000 suffer a TIA, or mini-stroke, typically with no warning. In this Patient Power webcast, Mark Alberts, MD addresses the risk factors for stroke, how to recognize if you are having a stroke and what can be done to treat and prevent a stroke. Dr. Alberts is the director of the Stroke Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and professor of Neurology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
