Each year, approximately 750,000 Americans experience a stroke and 500,000 suffer a TIA, or mini-stroke, typically with no warning. Dr. Alberts is the director of the Stroke Program at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and professor of Neurology at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine.
